This afternoon I had time to watch my youngest daughter(14 yrs old) spending time on the computer. She was facebooking, listening to music, googling and texting at the same time, while experimenting mash-ups with her recently-added free software editing programmes.
Watching her using MP3 Audio Editor and cutting and pasting music audio files reminded me of a scene in "Mahattan Murder Mystery" when the friends got together making cassette tapes with which they hoped to trap the murder suspect. It was real cuttings and pastings in the film, not like virtual cut and paste that my daughter was doing on the computer.
"Ironic!" was my first response. The subsequent response with a smile was "What a stubborn accent of digital immigrant I still have."
